Neonatal Nutrition and TPN

Preconference Workshop - 39th Annual Convention of National Neonatology Forum- India (NEOCON 2019) at Hyderabad

WORKSHOP ON ENTERAL NUTRITION AND TPN

Summary: Nutritional support of preterm and sick term neonates is of utmost importance for their intact survival. Preterm birth is a nutritional emergency and requires both optimum enteral and parenteral nutritional support. Breast milk is the optimal food for all infants and every effort should be made for its early and continued availability. Gastrointestinal immaturity precludes oral feeds sufficient to support growth in these preterm neonates and on the other hand parenteral Nutrition requires reliable IV access, pharmacy support and clinical expertise. In this workshop, we would try to solve all of these important issues. There are very few didactic lectures and more emphasis in being laid on case based scenarios and workshop stations. With a blend of senior and experienced faculties, we hope all the delegates would remember this unique workshop for years to come.
